Karen Gibler
Karen M. Gibler holds a PhD in Real Estate from Georgia State University. Her 25 years of research focus on corporate real estate management, the effect of aging populations on housing markets, and the application of consumer behavior theories to real estate. She has participated on international research teams in Finland, Spain, and South Korea and has conducted industry and academic workshops in Finland, Japan, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, and Thailand. She was awarded a Fulbright Specialist Grant to Thailand in 2012. Her work appears in the Journal of Real Estate Research, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Real Estate Economics, Urban Studies, Journal of Housing Economics, and Journal of Property Research. She is currently serving on four academic journal editorial boards. A past President of the International Real Estate Society, Dr. Gibler has served as the organization’s Executive Director since 2013. Her accomplishments have been recognized by various best paper awards, the 2012 IRES Service Award, the 2014 ARES Service Award, and the 2015 IRES Achievement Award.
